I don't know why there is a DVD in this picture- I swear there is no DVD or VHS involved. It's an app.
So I've been doing Alicia's workouts for 2.5 years CONSISTENTLY (like, my app badge for week streaks is 122 (humble brag)), which is pretty mind-blowing given that I hate workout apps and I hated strength training. I also hated the gym.
Your girl loved a treadmill (in my garage) and 15 min of throwing around some 10-15 lbs (in my garage).
These workouts are all based on the muscle-making principle of "progressive overload." I don't actually know what that means, but all the podcasters and midlife fitfluencers say that is what we midlife gals need to be doing to preserve bone density, survive menopause, and have a fighting chance at a metabolism, so I caved.
It all began with this app in my garage, using good old (heavyish) dumbbells.
And oh my gawd, I started to see muscles. So I decided to join a gym, and your gurl graduated to heavier dumbbells and actual gym equipment. Never have I ever had muscle definition like this, and my strength is something real nifty, so I 10/10 recommend.
